China
Business Network is a business consortium specialising in business
marketing and targeted promotion for large numbers of Chinese and
foreign enterprises as well as other organisations. In its early
years CBN London Office focused on providing foreign businesses
with consulting services and marketing activities using specialised
and the most prominent online projects on the China Wide Web such
as http://cn.chinapages.com and Chinaexcite.com, later incorporated
into http://chinaww.net
on the China Wide Web.
China Wide Web is a nation-wide on-line information service system
based in the Chinese language, utilising state of the art Internet
and Intranet technology to deliver the latest sought-after information
and exclusive market intelligence to targeted subscribers. It is
used by businesses and private users in China mainly through the
China Digital Data Network (ChinaDDN) ensuring fast accessibility
and reliability. It is important to realise that not only are computers
in China loaded with Chinese operating systems but also the majority
of Chinese people can only or prefer using the Chinese language.
Chinapages.com
was the first and remains a dedicated business information web site
in China. It was developed and launched in 1995 by DIFE Communications
which was part of China Telecom - the biggest commercial undertaking
of China's Ministry of Information Industry, in a joint venture
with HOPE Information Service - the leading provider of Internet
technology and business information in China, which was set up by
Mr. Ma Yun who is widely regarded as the avant-garde of the Internet
development in China. The mission of Chinapages was to facilitate
business contacts between Chinese and foreign businesses alike by
providing a one-stop shop of essential business information for
business users throughout China and World-wide. Chinaww.net is the
visual presentation of the China Wide Web and indeed it is the only
Chinese web site on the China Wide Web exclusively about foreign
market and promoting foreign companies in China.
In response to the ever increasing number of Chinese students
wishing to study abroad China Business Network joined forces with
Grace International and a number of partnering organisations in
China started providing marketing services and recruitment supports
to a large number of foreign Universities, HE and FE colleges as
well as other educational institutions from University of Aberdeen,
Durham, Kings College London to University of Westminster through
the first and still the largest “Studying Abroad Online” project
i.e. http://chuguo.cn and now http://liuxue168.cn
on the China Wide Web or www.studyabroad168.net
on the World Wide Web as well as through the establishment of Sino-Overseas
Education and Cultural Exchange Foundation (SOECEF) which is a non-profit
organisation set up to promote and facilitate education and cultural
exchange between China and other parts of the world.
Over
the years China Business Network together with its sister organisations
has been supporting many groups of Chinese officials and business
executives that came to the UK and other European countries for
exploring business opportunities as well as to find business partners
or attending exhibitions in the UK and Europe. Our clients in China
range from the Ministry of Agriculture to the delegation led by
the Mayor of Chongqing. We supported delegations headed by Governors
